Learn about Sapphires
Sapphire is a precious gemstone, a variety of the mineral corundum. It is typically blue, but natural “fancy” sapphires also occur in yellow, purple, orange, and green colors. Prized throughout the ages, padparadscha sapphires are as beautiful and exotic as their name. The term padparadscha is derived from the Sinhalese word for a salmon colored lotus blossom. Overall, padparadscha sapphires are pinkish orange in color, but do vary in hue and tone.
