A Proposal Carved In Stone
Colorado State University Alum Kyle Griffin and Laura Krause met during their senior year at CSU. Laura was the third generation in her family to graduate from the school. When it came time to ask Laura to be his wife, Kyle knew he wanted CSU Football to be a part of his proposal, he just wasn’t sure how. Coincidentally, the university announced a fundraising campaign just as he was planning the proposal. The school was selling inscribed bricks to pave a walkway at their new Football Stadium, and he knew instantly what to do.
“It would last as long as the stadium and would be there one day when our kids go to (CSU games).” said Griffin. So Griffin purchased a brick with a simple inscription: “We met at CSU and I knew you were the one. Laura, will you marry me? Kyle”
Griffin planned to have their families present the day he proposed, and Laura caught sight of them, and realized something was up. Griffin’s plan was blown. Krause said she knew a proposal was coming, but the brick was a complete surprise. As Kyle led her down the path of engraved bricks, he got down on one knee at “their” brick. Laura, of course, said yes.
Congratulations Laura & Kyle!
