The Tahitian, or black pearl, is an organic gem formed from the black lip oyster, Pinctada margaritifera. These pearls derive their name from the fact that they are primarily cultivated around Tahiti. These oysters create large, silver-gray to black pearls that can have other colors as overtones; a peacock green is the most valuable overtone.
This 14K Plumb White Gold Pendant boasts forty three natural round full cut diamonds prong set in an oval. The diamonds have a total weight of .33 carats. An 11 millimeter Tahitian Pearl is positioned in the bottom center of the diamond oval. The pendant arches slightly such that the back of the pearl rests against the skin. The pendant is suspended on a 14k White Gold eighteen-inch chain with a lobster claw clasp.
The pendant is one inch long, 3/4 inch wide and oval in shape. It weighs 4.44 grams.
